Pass the Parcel

February27

Here’s a great party game idea from Helen in Chorley – one of our Tish Tash Toys reps

I went to a party where they did a game where you passed a parcel following the instructions ie
pass to the person with the largest handbag
pass to the person with the most children
pass to the person with the largest feet
pass to a person with blonde hair
etc

We passed the parcel for a few minutes and then there was a winner. It was all just fun and quite easy to plan.

I’ve found another version of it on an American party plan site. See http://wahmpartyplan.com/pass_the_prize

Guess the Weight – Party Game

February27

If you are a party plan representative then this is a great party game guaranteed to break the ice and get things started at your demonstration. It’s also a good way get straight into showing your clients your wonderful range of products.

Before the party – choose a selection of your favourite eye-catching products of different sizes and weights. Weigh each item and make a note of the weights.

At your party – arrange the articles on a table or large tray. As your guests arrive ask them to write down the estimated weights of the various items. They are allowed to pick up the articles – in fact encourage them to – as then they can really see how lovely your products are!

The player with the closest estimates overall wins the game! Don’t forget to either let them choose one of the products as a prize or have something ready wrapped up to give them – maybe some chocolates or a smaller product you can afford to give away.

The Right Family Home Party Plan Game

February25

Similar to the Left Right Game, you read this out at the beginning of the party as an ice-breaker. Wrap up a small gift and the guests pass the prize each time they hear the word left (pass to the left) and right (pass to the right).  The person holding the prize at the end is the winner!

The RIGHT family had just finished dinner. “I’m going to have to look for a job,” said mother RIGHT. “There is no money LEFT in the savings account and with school clothes and Christmas RIGHT around the corner, I just don’t know how we’ll manage.”

” A job?” asked little Ruby RIGHT. “But who will pick me up from playgroup and drive me to dance class and swimming?”

….and who will take me to football and scouts, Harry RIGHT asked Mother RIGHT as he LEFT the kitchen.

Mother RIGHT said to Father RIGHT, “I’ll try and find something part-time that I can work RIGHT around the kid’s playgroups sessions, school and clubs.

The hall telephone rang and Father RIGHT LEFT to answer it. He rushed back into the kitchen and told Mother RIGHT that it was Auntie Susan RIGHT on the phone wanting to let her know she has just LEFT a children’s toy party at her friend’s house and was coming RIGHT over to tell her about it.

Auntie Susan RIGHT arrived and Mother RIGHT LEFT the dishes in the sink to join her in the living room.

“I’ve just joined Tish Tash Toys said Auntie Susan RIGHT as she handed Mother RIGHT a gorgeous handbag sized catalogue with butterflies on the front of it.

“You know how you love wooden toys and can’t find anywhere nearby that sells nice things for the kids,” said Auntie Susan RIGHT

“Well look RIGHT here, there’s something for everyone and you could be an agent too and sort out the cashflow problems LEFT over from last Christmas – without having to put Ruby into a nursery all day!

Auntie Susan told Mother RIGHT all about the discounts, special offers and free toys party hosts can get from Tish Tash Toys and then LEFT to spend the rest of the evening calling friends to book lots of parties!

Mother RIGHT told Father RIGHT all about it and little Ruby RIGHT and Harry RIGHT looked at the catalogues LEFT by Auntie Susan. They thought the toys were amazing and were far too excited to go to bed – begging Mother RIGHT to get the same job as Auntie Susan so the whole family would be all RIGHT.

So…this is the end of our fun little story – and like Auntie Susan, I’m excited about my own Tish Tash Toys business happening RIGHT here RIGHT now with all of you. All that’s LEFT to say is I hope you can all support me working around my family and book a party yourself RIGHT now!!

Free bottle of wine (or other prize) to the first person who books a party tonight – I’ll leave that in (use party host’s name) RIGHT hand for whoever would like to claim it. The prize goes to whoever is now LEFT holding it.

Whose Baby Game

February25

This is the first of several articles I’m going to do on games and icebreakers for direct sales professionals. I have a fantastic team of agents selling Tish Tash Toys across England, Scotland and Wales. My direct selling team consists of mostly Mum’s (but we have guys too!) working from home who need new and exciting ideas to liven up their demonstrations.

I’ve set up a category called Party Ideas for Party Planners (see the categories list on the right!) so you too can add some great games to your repertoire and make your event much more enjoyable for your party host and their friends and family. If you are working from home and need more ideas then sign up to receive this blog through the RSS feed link right at the bottom of this page. You will receive an email whenever I post something new and don’t forget to can always email me if you have any ideas on how we can work together (reciprocal marketing etc). sharon@tishtashtoys.com

Whose Baby Game

Any number of people can take part in this amusing party game and it makes a great ice-breaker for party plan demonstrations (whatever you are selling). Basically, each guest is asked to bring along a photograph of themselves as a baby. These are then attached to a board or laid out on a table (preferably without damaging them or you won’t have many customers!).

Add a number above each photo and start your evening of with a bit of fun! Each player or guest must try to determine which photo is of which guest, writing down the answers on a piece of paper. The winner is the person who comes up with most correct answers. If everyone doesn’t know each others names then give them name stickers or silly party hats which you can get them to write out a sticker and add on as the party is getting going!

As with all of these party plan games – the winner gets one of your products, discount vouchers, a box of chocs or perhaps a lovely new photo frame for the photo!!!
