100 anti-fur complaints to Elle Magazine
I bought Elle magazine (USA edition) today and couldn’t believe there were not one but several advertisements for fur. So I’ve complained – using the form on this link – click here to complain http://www.elle.com/Contact-Us
It is NOT what I want to see in the magazines I read. Do you?

This is the complaint email I sent – short, sweet and to the point. Please feel free to copy this message, or adapt it.
I bought Elle (USA edition) today and was absolutely appalled to see several adverts for fur!!! For example The Fur Vault at Macy’s, Pologeorgis and Sorbara Fur. I thought the fashion world had moved on but obviously not. This is absolutely disgusting and I will not be buying Elle magazine again. I will also be blogging and twittering to others urging them to boycott your unethical immoral business.

Your adverts promoting fur are a disgrace!
How many millions more animals are going to have to die before influential magazines like Elle realise that all fur is cruel fur? Or don’t you care?

No to wear the cruelty and the suffering has never embellished anybody. The fur is only a sign of vanity and moral vacuity.

I wrote ELLE letting them know my disgusts for the ad for fur,basically told them that they have no conscious when it comes to fur bearing animals and that they are about one thing,MONEY.
I will shout it from the rooftops that you advertise the use of fur.Its for cave men not fashionable people.
Telling everyone to not buy you mag until you stop!
To advertise for the misery and torture of animals for fur is a disgrace!
I will boycot your magazine, and every sponsor until the fur ads are gone.

REALLY? not too smart. guess you didn’t get the memo that the fur industry’s horrible. and don’t give me any crap about ‘humane independent farms’ because we’ve heard all those lies before. have you ever watched any of the videos? or even been to a fur farm? i think you’d better educate yourselves on the horrors before you go and decide to support such a cruel, pointless trade. we are not cavemen. wake up. it’s 2009.i’ll be sure to let everyone i know, know how much you suck.

I didn’t buy your magazine today as a result of seeing an email sent to me by a concerned animal lover. I too will be passing on the message to everyone I know.

I have never noticed people being that against fur but this intrigues me to learn more. There are so many more criticisms about it and how “fur is murder” and how the fashion world still hasn’t completely taken that extreme outlook as well. I looked up Elle magazine, they seem to not even have a clear point about if their pictures of fur are faux or not. It’s pointless to have such a vague outlook on something with that many temperamental opinions on. There are so many ways to create fashion without harming animals. I’m so glad you were able to write them and honestly, Elle just bluntly ignores the fact that they are publishing this display to society showing how there is actually a positive outlook on fur. Ignoring the fact that animals are slaughtered everyday just for a good picture for their magazine to influence more teens and young adults to buy this product they consider fashion
